Greater-Zonnebeke has fraternised with quite a few municipalities over the years:

Known for its giant bunker construction for the manufacture and launch of V1 rockets during World War II. The twinning with Zonnebeke dates back to 1979. |
| Waimakariri
(New-Zeeland) |
From a shared history during World War I. During the Battle of Passchendaele (1917), more than 100 Waimakariri residents died. The fraternisation dates back to 2007. |
| Marrickville
(New South Wales, Australia) |
From a shared history during World War I. During the Battle of Passchendaele (1917), 117 residents from the Marrickville Local Government Area died. The fraternisation dates back to 2007. |
| Esslingen
(Germany) |
From a historical connection during World War I in Flanders in which the 246th Reserve Infantry Regiment was closely involved. Consequently, an army barracks was established in Esslingen after World War I, which bore the name Becelaere. |
| Vielsalm
(Belgium) |
From a common “witch tradition”: Vielsalm has its Macralles de Val du Salm and these are celebrated annually on a witches’ Sabbath (20 and 21 July). The fraternisation became official in 2008. |
| Wicko
(Poland) |
In 2013, Zonnebeke fraternised with Wicko and this as part of the witchcraft tradition. By fraternising, they want to preserve and keep alive the intangible heritage of witchcraft. |
