Lemon balm

The plant did not steal its name considering it smells like lemon. The plant grows about 50 cm tall and can be translated from Ancient Greek to ‘Honey bee’. This considering it attracts many bees due to its high nectar content.

Lemon balm has antispasmodic effects and knows how to whet the appetite. Essential oil extracted from it is used to reduce nervousness and insomnia. It also has a positive effect on the airways. Due to its strong fragrance, the herb is also used to prevent mosquito bites. The lemon scent disturbs mosquitoes’ sense of smell, making it harder for them to find you.

According to ancient symbolism, the plant is a female plant, belonging to the planet Venus. Magically, it is used for love potions and aphrodisiacs, to increase fertility and to help depressed moods. It was used in rituals to obtain success.
