Sculpture Camiel Van Breedam

This work symbolises the roads that cross and at the same time rise to the heights: sky, heaven, symbol of the millions of young people killed senselessly. The buttresses themselves are the symbol of supports, reaching for the sky, supporting walls that no longer exist, destroyed by war.

At the same time, they are a symbol of hope through their form reaching for the sky (heaven), extended by the gently descending (or climbing) duckboards.
