La for\u00eat de Polygoon occupe une place particuli\u00e8re dans l&rsquo;histoire de la guerre. En 1914, Fran\u00e7ais et Allemands y tiennent des positions \u00e0 la lisi\u00e8re sud de la for\u00eat. Apr\u00e8s la capture par les Allemands, de violents combats ont eu lieu pendant <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/fr\/zien-en-doen\/histoire-bataille-de-passchendaele\/\">la bataille de Passchendaele<\/a><\/strong> en 1917.<\/p>\n<p>Le petit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/fr\/zien-en-doen\/cimetiere-du-bois-du-polygone\/\">cimeti\u00e8re du bois du Polygone<\/a><\/strong> et le nouveau <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/fr\/zien-en-doen\/cimetiere-britannique-de-buttes-new\/\"><strong>cimeti\u00e8re britannique de Buttes<\/strong><\/a> sont tous deux des sites comm\u00e9moratifs sp\u00e9ciaux. La campagne pr\u00e8s de Beselare est particuli\u00e8rement agr\u00e9able pour la marche aujourd&rsquo;hui.
