Marigold thrives in and sparse sunny spot and will spontaneously spread.<\/p>\n<p>In herbal medicine, the herb is used for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and soothing properties. These constitute a treatment for abrasions, bedsores, suppurating wounds, sunburn, burns and chaps, among others. The tincture is also called natural iodine which has disinfectant properties.<\/p>\n<p>Among the Southern Slavs, it was believed that a girl could force the love of a young man with the flower. The girl had to fill a flowerpot with the earth on which a man had left his footprint.
