At the back of the church you will find the tombstone of Knight Adriaan Van der Woestine (1527). This family played an important role in Beselaar&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<h2>Van der Woestine family<\/h2>\n<p>Beselare also once had a castle; for 400 years, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/zien-en-doen\/familie-van-der-woestine\/\">the Van der Woestine family<\/a> was inextricably linked to the village. From their splendid residence, they were lord and master. Several drives recall this glorious past.
