The church administration appointed modernist architect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/zien-en-doen\/huib-hoste\/\">Huib Hoste<\/a> to build the church in Geluveld in 1920. After correspondence with increasingly negative tones between parish priest Delrue and the master builder and repeated adjustments, Hoste&#8217;s appointment was finally withdrawn in January 1923.<\/p>\n<h2>New architect<\/h2>\n<p>Jules Coomans, Ypres city architect, took over his task. Completed at the end of 1925, the church was dedicated to <strong>Saint Margaret<\/strong>, who had been venerated here for eight centuries. Inside, many wax figures of this saint can be found.
