Supposedly built as a <strong>medical aid station<\/strong>, it becomes a strongly defended and difficult to take stronghold during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/zien-en-doen\/geschiedenis-slag-bij-passendale\/\">Battle of Passchendaele<\/a>.
