Eperlecques <\/strong><\/p>\n

(France)<\/td>\n

Known for its giant bunker construction for the manufacture and launch of V1 rockets during World War II. The twinning with Zonnebeke dates back to 1979.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Waimakariri <\/strong><\/p>\n

(New-Zeeland)<\/td>\n

From a shared history during World War I. During the Battle of Passchendaele<\/a> (1917), more than 100 Waimakariri residents died. The fraternisation dates back to 2007.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Marrickville <\/strong><\/p>\n

(New South Wales, Australia)<\/td>\n

From a shared history during World War I. During the Battle of Passchendaele (1917), 117 residents from the Marrickville Local Government Area died. The fraternisation dates back to 2007.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Esslingen <\/strong><\/p>\n

(Germany)<\/td>\n

From a historical connection during World War I in Flanders in which the 246th Reserve Infantry Regiment was closely involved. Consequently, an army barracks was established in Esslingen after World War I, which bore the name Becelaere.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Vielsalm <\/strong><\/p>\n

(Belgium)<\/td>\n

From a common “witch tradition”: Vielsalm has its Macralles de Val du Salm and these are celebrated annually on a witches’ Sabbath (20 and 21 July). The fraternisation became official in 2008.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Wicko <\/strong><\/p>\n

(Poland)<\/td>\n

In 2013, Zonnebeke fraternised with Wicko and this as part of the witchcraft tradition<\/a>.
