{"id":50798,"date":"2022-09-15T15:58:59","date_gmt":"2022-09-15T13:58:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/eten-en-drinken\/leonie\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T07:48:43","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T05:48:43","slug":"leonie","status":"publish","type":"eten-en-drinken","link":"https:\/\/www.toerismezonnebeke.be\/en\/eten-en-drinken\/leonie\/","title":{"rendered":"L\u00e9onie"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>L\u00e9onie Keingiaert<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>L\u00e9onie (6.3%) is a strong-flavoured yet surprisingly smooth and fruity beer, brewed in honor of L\u00e9onie Keingiaert, Belgium\u2019s first female mayor, who was appointed in Geluveld 100 years ago.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A bold beer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The beer&#8217;s flavor is designed to reflect the character of this remarkable lady: bold and robust, yet with a slightly bitter aftertaste.The addition of Nepalese pepper has never before been used in beer brewing and adds a spicy kick, while the hops provide bitterness to the flavor. 50% of the hops used are sourced from Poperinge.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Castalia Craft Beers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The L\u00e9onie beer will be available during the 2021 festivities in honor of L\u00e9onie Keingiaert. The beer is brewed by <a href=\"https:\/\/castaliacraftbeers.be\/\">Castalia Craft Beers<\/a>.
