Witches’ Hiking Trail (7,5 km)

Start and parking: Market Square, 8980 Beselare

Beselare has been known for centuries as a witches’ village where the reputation of the witches extends far beyond the village boundaries. During the 'Witches’ Hiking Trail' you will pass the alleged residences of some of the most important witches of Beselare such as 'Calle Bletters', 'Sefa Bubbels' and 'Tanneken Vanhulle'. Witches who have the ability to fly or to transform themselves into animals, as well as who possess magical abilities and use magical potions. They held secret witch meetings with Sefa as their mistress. Walk in the shoes of the witches of Beselare and be guided by their invisible hand.

A map of the hiking trail can be found at the information panel at the starting point. The route is signposted with hexagonal signs and the information of specific sites is displayed on information panels in four languages along the trail.
