Canadian Road to Passchendaele (6,5 km)

With the 'Canadian Road to Passchendaele', you ’ll walk in the shoes of the Canadian troops, who had the difficult task of taking the ruins of Passchendaele in 1917. Whilst walking, you will find out more about this saddening campaign. After more than 100 days, they have only moved 8 km away from Ypres. The reconquered area is transformed into a lunar landscape. Recent research indicates that there were at least 600,000 losses (dead, injured and missed in action). The Canadians lost more than 16,000 men during their participation in the offensive.
